Consumer Tip for November 2004
| ACTION ALERT ACTION ALERT LIHEAP Cash & Crisis Programsto Begin on November 8, 2004 This year both LIHEAP Cash and Crisis programs will begin on November 8, 2004. To be eligible for Cash benefits, you must be responsible for home heating costs. Your yearly household income must be within the following limits to qualify: One person $12,569 Two persons $16,862 Three persons $21,155 Four persons $25,448 Five persons $29,741 Six persons $34,034 For each additional person, add $4,293. To be eligible for a Crisis grant, you must have an energy emergency and your income must be within the limits listed above. A Crisis grant can help pay the following: -Pay utility bills and the turn-on charge to get service on if your service has been shut-off. -Pay for fuel if you are in danger of being out of fuel. -Pay to do any of the following: buy a new heating system thaw frozen pipes repair broken furnaces repair heat-related water heating systems repair gas or fuel lines repair broken windows If you think you qualify, contact your local County Assistance Office as soon as possible. The phone numbers for the County Assistance Offices are listed below. Funds for this program are limited, and the program is only open a short time.
